Solstice sunrise. In other years, we've gone to Hilina Pali. But this year, because of all the earthquakes at Kilauea, Hilina Pali is closed for safety reasons. So we went to Mauna Kea, to an area called Kahinahina, and took in the sunrise from there. Kahinahina is at about 9,500', which is nearly 3 times as high as Hilina Pali. Had the clouds not been there, we could have seen the ocean. But this was excellent anyway.
