Bipalium kewense a.k.a. hammerhead worm. Not much else to say about this, except that it was a good 10" long. One website suggested it might be implicated in rat lungworm disease (as a carrier) but no other site did. In any case when I went back outside to hasten its demise, I couldn't find it again.
