The rain has backed off, finally. I went to see what was happening with Raine's lychee, and noticed this tiny horned growth. I also liked the water caught in the top.

I've been watching the buds, because I'm not sure what they are. Some lychee varieties fruit very young, and this might be one of them (the big lychee did nothing for 6 years). These just don't look to me as though they're going to turn into leaves -- and notice the ants, who are good at sensing sweetness.

Nothing to do but wait.
