When I went out on the front porch to see what was happening this morning, I noticed that the new lychee leaves were lit in a way I hadn't seen before. I think this is because, as the winter solstice approaches, the rising sun has moved far to the right side of the frame, and thus can light things from that direction a few minutes before it lights anything at the back of the frame. So I rushed back in for the 300 mm lens, and got this.
