If you got here from the front page, you've already noticed that the front page image is smaller than it has been. I'll be going through the entire site downsizing the images. This is for two reasons: first, website statistics show that almost no one clicks from the front page through to this page, where the description and comments are. I think this is because the image is so large that no one sees the "click for description" button. Second, mobile devices. I'll slowly be making HDI more mobile-friendly.

Now for today's HDI: rain. Hilo set a rainfall record yesterday, and surely will today. It rained very hard all night -- roads are flooded, rivers and streams are way up, and so on. Here's a yellow Kula gardenia on the back lanai, in the rain.
