Once again I needed to be out early. One part of the pikake is climbing the rock wall (I don't think pikake is a natural climber, but it will do it, with some help). I shot down, obviously.

As I was working on this image, the sun burst out. From the bathroom window I saw something I don't think I've seen before -- the literal beginning of a rainbow, as it formed. The initial portion was short and vertical. Within 3 or 4 minutes it had formed most of the arc. I grabbed a few shots but there was so much in the way (palm, neighbor's house, two sets of utility wires) that the image was uninteresting. And I was committed to this one, anyway. Even so, it was something to remember.
