The Surinam cherry has, as you can see, buds, blossoms, unripe cherries, moderately-ripe cherries, and fully-ripe ones.
In the camera display I didn't see the little red crosses at the tip of the buds, but when I brought the image up on my computer they were obvious. I liked that because back in January I put up a close-up of a single Surinam cherry bud which showed the same red pattern in a side view, and here it is in end view. I might try watching those buds more carefully, to see what happens as they open. Maybe they open quickly, and by tomorrow morning will be fully-open. If not, maybe I can catch an interim state.
