I was set up for a long exposure on an unmoving object, when a cardinal flew by and perched on a hapu'u frond. I was able to pan and focus, but I didn't have time to change settings and get a higher shutter speed.

But I like this one. The two-headed cardinal of Pi'ihonua. Of course I messed with the non-red colors, desaturating them so the red would appear more vivid.

Also, it was only today that I realized that the HDI had topped the 600 image mark. I think I'll add the image number to the date line. If later that seems silly, I'll go back and change it. I'm still looking to hit 1,000 before I stop. Maybe I'll get there, and maybe not.
