And . . . the kumquats.
At first I thought I'd found the right setting -- standing back by the shed, using a telephoto to bring the dozens (maybe hundreds) of kumquats together, the way a telephoto compresses things. But even with shadows and the morning sun, those shots just weren't interesting. So I moved in and saw that the far reaches of the tree extended up into the sky, and if I shot wide open I could throw them nicely out of focus, and get a progression of more and more out of focus kumquats.
And that's what you get. Finally, a kumquat tree shot. And I got a reminder to get out there and pick them before they fall off.
