Hilo Daily Image
1 January 2016
First HDI of the year.
Colden Daily Image, 2014 01 01 (the end of the Colden Daily Image series was made in Hilo)
I don't usually go looking for HDI material that expresses what's happening in the world. Today, though, I thought I'd look for new or opening shots, which would mean flowers or buds.
Over at the Surinam Cherry by the lava tube I spotted a white blossom that seemed promising. But how many times have I offered white blossoms as the HDI? Many times. Close to the blossom was a bud, so tiny that with my naked eye I could only see that there were streaks of color. I tried a few head-on shots, but didn't like them. So I moved around to the side, and got this one.
May 2016 open as gracefully for my viewers as this bud will.
We won't talk about how this bud will become a flower which will become the tart fruit of an aggressive exotic species that I'm sorry I planted where I did. It would have been better along the back border.
