On this cold morning (60 degrees, some wind, and I couldn't remember where I stowed my long-sleeved shirt) I decided to go outside without waiting for full sun. From the porch I could see a nice planet over the Areca palm, a bit of sunrise rosiness was happening, and I thought I could probably get something interesting. So I mounted the superwide and went out.

I didn't like what I found. But on the way back in (same old story) I turned toward the house and the strong horizontals and the patterns thrown by the security lights caught my eye. I also liked that the image showed many of the HDI locations: the kukui, the Meyer lemon, the Buddha bamboo, the yellow cypress, Mesiamo's betel palm in the back, the pikake, black ti, porch railings, gutters and downspouts, the rock wall (of course), the orange 'ohi'a, the white hibiscus, the teak steamer chair, the front porch, the mauka Dypsis palms, the big lava bomb. . . .

And you can see the construction permits, attached in a conspicuous location as required by law. That would be on the porch wall.
