I went out pretty early. Not much light from the sky, but the security light kicked on and created some interesting little orange specks on the concrete. I liked the shape of the dead hibiscus -- the way it seemed to be opening to the bit of moss stranded there from when I washed it down a couple of days ago.

For the next week or so, the HDI might be oddly-scheduled. There's a lot of schedule-uncertainty just now, what with the construction. I hope I can learn to contemplate my world, select an image, and then make it -- all with trucks and power tools and who knows what else getting in the way. One thing this means is that I'll be working earlier in the day than I'd prefer. Today is just the first example of that.

The HDI is supposed to be partly an exercise in concentration and seeing in the midst of visual confusion. It's now about to become a test involving other kinds of confusions. I hope I can pass it.
