Hilo Daily Image
16 November 2015
I saw the shot I wanted -- the base of the big betel palm -- but by the time I collected the equipment it had started to rain. I made the shot by going to the downstairs back door.
Then the sun came out. Nice.
I've learned that if I want to get that raining feeling, I have to find a way to get the shutter speed between 1/100 and about 1/160. This is at 1/125, and gives the longer "drops" that I prefer.
I rarely add an auxiliary image that isn't from the yard, but yesterday on the Puna coast I made an image that I really, really like.
