I tried for the backlit lychee leaves, but they were uninteresting. Maybe there's another way to set up that shot.

 

So I went over to the lava tube to see what I could find there. A taro leaf was positioned such that I knew I could drop the background to nearly all-black while retaining some interesting patterns, and that the purple stalk would most likely disappear too, leaving the leaf flying all alone against a dark background.
