No, there's no lava flow in the yard.

 

This is the Pu'u O'o flow. I had the chance to fly over it this morning in a doors-off helicopter, which was -- using the word in its traditional sense -- awesome. I hadn't fully understood that we would sometimes be only 20 or 30 feet from the ground. I didn't take long the superwide, but I found plenty to shoot with the 70-200.

 

The pilot was willing to swing over Wailuku Drive, and thus, having promised for many months to provide a picture of the yard where the HDI is made -- here it is.
