After I thinned the bamboo, I cut back the dead and dying hapu'u fronds (this is normal).

 

This morning I went out thinking about the bamboo again, but a pile of fronds caught my eye. I liked the color variation, and the way the two light ones stood out, even on a very dull morning.

 

So that's what you get.
