Yesterday I was doing yard work in the back corner (as in Back Corner Week, or whatever I called it), working around the clump of blue ginger and thinking about trying for that stacked shot I've been thinking about, when I ran into this beauty back in the giant ginger area.
I couldn't figure out what it was. The central fruit reminded me of something, but it took me until after I made the shot to realize that it was Monstera deliciosa. There was a lot of that in the yard (my mother was fond of it), and I've taken most of it out (I'm not fond of it). I can't remember ever seeing it in bloom, except as a kid. It may be that this phase is fleeting.
So here it is, with ginger stalks.
