I haven't produced much black and white lately.
This is a black pine that's in a corner near the rock wall. The needles at the top are always a lighter color, and the contrast is attractive to my eye. But when I shoot it in color (as I have, many times) the contrast and colors are never very interesting.
This morning, from the porch (it's raining again) I grabbed some OK shots of the orange 'ohi'a and even the hibiscus, and then got this one, just in case. I passed it over and was ready to put out one of the other shots when I said . . . what about B/W?
