My mother's birthday. She would have been 110 today, and I'm sure she would have admired these hibiscus.

I'm using a new lens that arrived yesterday. It's a 300 mm, extremely lightweight, and has an f/4 maximum aperture. I had it on the tripod for a while, and went back inside with the whole rig. Then I saw a cardinal among the red lychees and took the camera out hand-held, in hopes of getting the cardinal. It flew away when I opened the door.

So I shot these hibiscus instead. Hand held!
