I needed to get out of the house early. The front didn't look promising, so I tried the back porch with the bathroom light on.

 

You can see the outline of the circular mirror which, according to a bill of sale I found a few days ago, came with the house. The same bathroom mirror has been hanging there since 1946 (not counting how long it had been there before my parents bought it).

 

The cruciform pattern comes from the way the mirror's mounted on the glass blocks. I practice no religion, but considering that today is an important Christian holiday, I offer my Christian friends their symbol.

 

Tomorrow it's back to shooting in daylight. It's a whole lot easier. In daytime, though, you can't get that striking dark blue sky.
