I was on the porch looking down at the kukui in the Zen garden, and noticed that in about a dozen places there were reddish new leaves. From a distance I saw only the overall color.
I went to the shed and grabbed a ladder, so today's HDI is the first one from a ladder. The shot wasn't as easy to make as I'd hoped. No tripod or focusing rack, of course. And the light was shining on the LCD screen with the camera not even close to being in position for me to use my shirt as a focusing cloth.
But I like the results anyway. The new leaves have a beautiful variety of colors. I particularly like the green on the upper one.
This kukui seems an endless source of pleasure.
