As so often happens, I spent time shooting other things. On my way back through the zen garden, I noticed the blue ginger that I'd brought in from the back a few days ago and dropped onto some black cinders, thinking I might return and shoot it.
This morning I was after bees, but -- like the dragonfly -- focusing was tough. The bees were at work in the Surinam cherry, so the potential was sensuous dark-red cherries, delicate white flowers, shiny green leaves, and brown bees. The shots I made were OK (how many times have I said that?) but not compelling.
I'll still try for blue ginger in situ one of these days.
As for tomorrow and Saturday -- we're still not sure. Ana continues to threaten us, but her winds haven't reached hurricane strength yet. Tomorrow's HDI shouldn't be a problem. Saturday's might be difficult.
